An op-ed by Rob Sobhani in today’s Christian Science Monitor outlines the case for an American-Saudi partnership to save Yemen from becoming a “failed terrorist state.” Sobhani, President of Caspian Energy Consulting and author of the upcoming book “King Abdullah: A Leader of Consequence,” argues that, “The right course in Yemen is to build good governance and economic development. And the right person to lead that strategic effort is Abdullah. If President Obama wants to avoid the Afghanistanization of Yemen, he should reach out to the Saudi monarch.
